Jason Robert Brown’s acclaimed musical The Last Five Years is set to make its Broadway debut in 2025, and the creative team is now complete. As previously revealed, this highly anticipated production will open at the Hudson Theater on March 18, 2025, with an official opening night set for April 6, 2025
Directed by Whitney White, The Last Five Years has a limited run of 14 weeks. The production will feature choreography by Tony nominees Jeff and Rick Kuperman, best known for their work on The Outsiders.
The event will feature scenic photography by David Zinn, a three-time Tony Award winner who has previously designed sets for productions such as Stereophonic, The Notebook and Kimberly Akimbo Costume design will be in the hands of Tony Award winner Dede Ayite, who has been recognized for his dealing with Jaja Afrika Wool Weaving.
The sound design will be led by Tony Award winner Cody Spencer of The Outsiders, with lighting design provided by Stacey Derosier, marking her Broadway debut Academy Award, Emmy and BAFTA winner Mia Neal will oversee the production’s wigs and hair.
The Last Five Years explores the complex relationship between Jamie, an ambitious young author, and Cathy, a rising actress, as they navigate the highs and lows of love, ambition, and life in New York City.
The musical first premiered at Northlight Theatre in Skokie, Illinois, before transferring Off-Broadway in 2002. It was revived in 2013 and adapted into a film in 2014 starring Jeremy Jordan and Anna Kendrick.
For its Broadway debut, Nick Jonas and Tony Award winner Adrienne Warren will star as Jamie and Cathy, respectively.
