Zayn Malik has announced the cancellation of his U.S. tour. the highly anticipated tour has been delayed following the tragic death of his former bandmate Liam Payne.
Just last month, Malik revealed plans for his first solo headline tour to promote his fourth studio album, Room Under the Stairs . The tour was set to kick off this Wednesday in San Francisco, with additional stops planned in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Washington DC and New York before heading to the UK in November but Malik took to social media to share that U.S. leg of the tour back in 2025 will be shown.
“Because of the tremendous loss we are all experiencing this week, I cut the U.S. off. the STAIRWAY TO THE SKY Tour. “Additional dates for January will be announced soon and I appreciate your patience during this difficult time.”
Fans can rest assured that purchased tickets will still be valid for the repeat dates, and Malik expressed his appreciation for their understanding and support
The decision to postpone came only after the sad death of 31-year-old Payne. Preliminary reports indicate that he sustained serious injuries as a result of the crash, prompting a continued investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Penn rose to fame as a member of One Direction, rising to celebrity status when he entered The X Factor in the UK in 2008. The group enjoyed huge success with hits such as “What Makes You Beautiful”, “Story of My Life” during their 2015 hiatus Later, Malik and the other members—Niall Horan, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson—went on to pursue solo careers.
In light of Penn's death, Malik shared an emotional tribute on social media. “I lost my brother when you left us, and I can’t tell you what I would have given to hold you one last time and say a proper goodbye. I loved and respected you so much,” she wrote.
