Former WWE superstar Matt Riddle has been the subject of speculation recently, fueling rumors about his potential return to WWE and even hinting at the possibility of joining All Elite Wrestling (AEW). However, recent reports suggest that the latter scenario is unlikely to happen anytime soon.
According to a report by Fightful Select, while Riddle mentioned an awkward meeting with AEW President Tony Khan, there appears to be little to no interest behind the scenes in bringing him into the AEW roster, at least over the past few years. The report further highlighted that, although AEW wrestlers are often allowed to work independent wrestling shows, it’s rare to see them share the ring with Riddle—unless it's in Mexico.
In the meantime, Riddle has kept busy by making appearances for Major League Wrestling (MLW) and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW), although he is not bound by an exclusive contract with either promotion. Additionally, reports have surfaced that Riddle has had discussions with TNA (now known as Impact Wrestling), and the promotion is optimistic about securing his involvement in the near future.
As of now, Riddle’s next major career move remains up in the air, leaving fans to wonder whether his path will lead him back to WWE, to TNA, or to continued work in independent circuits across the globe.
