Guitarist and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Dave Mason has announced the cancellation of the remaining dates on his 2024 tour due to a serious heart condition.
Mason’s team said the condition was discovered during a routine medical visit and needed immediate attention. Fortunately, Mason’s doctors expect a full and successful recovery, and his goal is to return in 2025 to tour.
“It broke my heart to have to cancel these days, but it’s a doctors order,” Mason shared. “I’ll be back, better than ever, in 2025.”
The popular musician was set to perform in Santa Barbara as part of his “Traffic Jam 2024” tour, with additional stops throughout California, including San Juan Capistrano, San Diego, Santa Cruz, Ojai, Montclair and Arroyo Grande ho on this tour in Nevada at Stateline, Carson City The show was also scheduled.
Originally from Worcester, England, Mason shot to fame with the rock band Traffic and has collaborated with legendary artists such as Paul McCartney, Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix. The 78-year-old maintains an active schedule of performances, usually around 100 live performances a year -He organizes shows. His most recent album, Alone Together, Again, was released in 2020.
